I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and belong to a number of business networking groups throughout the years. My business category is GPS tracking – a category that typically doesn’t encounter much in the way of competition within any of the groups that I’ve participated in. During my time as a member in previous groups, I always seemed to fit in the top 10% of the business referrers.

I was invited to attend an EANJ breakfast meeting by a friend – someone that I was affiliated with in a previous networking group. I immediately found the group to be filled with a lot of “top 10% referrers”. It was easy to determine that this group not only met for the purpose of generating referrals that converted into business, but they are also a fun group of people.  I worked at getting in front of the membership through House Calls and quickly learned about the offerings of each of the members and educated them on the value provided by Guardian Tracking Systems.

Within the first 18 months of my membership, Guardian Tracking Systems received referrals that converted into closed business totaling over $140K in recurring revenue. New opportunities continue to be generated and we look for new ways to generate interest and referrals within the group.

My decision to become an EANJ member not only translated into a source of revenue, but also a source of additional activity that works to benefit the group.  Today, I sit on a number of committees and participate on the Board of Directors.
